Note: messaging doesn't refer to the messaging channel, this is the name of the Classic SDK UI.

24 July 2023

All versions of the Classic SDKs now support Android 14 (API 34). The compile version for all the SDKs has been updated to 34.

Translation in Agent Workspace has been fixed and now appears without issue for both Agent Workspace account and non-Agent Workspace.

Important: This release updates the Messaging module in order to faciliate the migration to the Zendesk SDK, you can find more information in the Zendesk SDK Migration Guide.
This release also renames some packages from Messaging, you can find those changes in our Unified Migration Guide.

All versions of the Classics SDKs will require Messaging: 5.3.0 from these versions onwards (inclusive).

This release brings a retry mechanism for agent availability requests instead of only determining agent availability once. Also, we updated the message “All agents are offline“ to “Hi. Unfortunately, we are unable to determine if an agent is available.“ when the agent availability is undetermined.

This is the first version of the SDK that includes Chat and brings the ability to use the Chat engine in the Unified SDK alongside the Answer Bot and Support engines. If you are currently using Chat SDK v1, please see the migration notes.

These are the first versions of the Support and Answer Bot SDKs that use Unified SDK.

If you were previously using Answer Bot SDK 1.0.0, you will need to replace your usage of AnswerBotActivity (which has been removed) with MessagingActivity and an instance of AnswerBotEngine. See Answer Bot Engine for more details.

Answer Bot 2.0.0 also adds access to AnswerBotProvider, which you can use to interact with the Answer Bot back-end programmatically. This allows you to build your own UI instead of using MessagingActivity. See Answer Bot Providers for more information.

The SupportEngine is a new addition you can use with MessagingActivity for ticket creation and integration with Answer Bot. See Support Engine for more details.
